About

Hello there! Thanks for visiting my blog.

My name is Lana and I’m currently in the midst of a cross country adventure with my terrier, Remy, from South Carolina to California.

Here are some questions I seem to get the most:

How much of your trip is planned?

I have a vague idea of where I’m going, but nothing is set in stone. Where needed I make a hotel reservation the day of. I’d like to preserve the sense of freedom innate in this road trip, so if I decide to stay an extra day somewhere I can, or change my destination completely!

How did you pick the places you’re going to?

Half out of convenience and half out of a genuine desire to see them.

Why would anyone choose to drive across the country?

Do you know how expensive it is to ship a car? JK. Not really.

I have been enjoying tremendously your blog. I strongly believe that travel is the most important part of growing up. The college is very important but I think it is overrated compared to the travel experience. Traveling alone, discounted for Remy, can be very demanding, and to keep your composure, learn how to deal with difficulties while on the road and how to deal with different people is way above what you learn in college. I was waiting for you getting over Sierra Nevada but if this part would never be written I would like to tell you how much I enjoyed your writing and feeling of your maturity I got from your lines.

This is exactly what I plan to do within the next few months. Will you be writing about your transition after uprooting your life and arriving to your new home? Are there any tips or advice you can give to someone looking to road trip cross country and starting a new life?
